Once upon a time, in the deep forest
lived a Hare who were very proud of his speed. “I am the fastest animal in the
world.” He bragged. The Hare also liked mocking the Tortoise, “Hello Mr.
Tortoise! Whew...You know I am really tired because everyday...everyday I see
you walking very slowly hahah...!!”
At this time, the Tortoise took the joke
seriously.
“Actually I can run fast. I just don’t
want to show it to you because I don’t want to be arrogant” Said the Tortoise.
The hare felt surprised and irritated with this.
“You don’t wanna be arrogant, huh? Fine!
Let’s have a race tomorrow after the sun rises.”
So, the next morning, the Hare and the
Tortoise had a race. Once the race started, the Hare was just flashing away,
leaving the Tortoise far behind. After a while he couldn’t see the Tortoise,
“Where is he...where is he? Don’t wanna be arrogant! How stupid he is!” the
Hare started grumbling. It was summer at that time, the sun light was hot and
the wind blew in breeze, made the Hare felt sleepy, “Huaaahhh...I’d better
sleep now. That slowpoke will be impossible to pass me...huaaahhh” Then the
Hare took a rest under a shady tree. With the breeze, the Hare soon felt
asleep.
But, what happened with the Tortoise? It
was almost no difference between running and walking for the Tortoise. All was
just really slow. However, the Tortoise had a very strong determination. He kept
continuing his effort to the finish line. Finally he reached the tree where the
Hare was sleeping. “Hmm...I don’t know why you hate a slowpoke like me. I’d
prefer to have short legs like these than to have long teeth like you. Hmmh!!!”
The Tortoise kept going with full
determination to the finish line. Step by step, the Tortoise was almost
reaching the finish line. All animals cheered up for him. The noise of of the
crowd awoke the sleeping Hare.
“What the hell is that sound?!!” Slowly,
the Hare opened his eyes! How suprised he is to see the Tortoise was far
ahead,”What???!!! That’s impossible.” So, the Hare set a bound then...whuuuussss...he
flashed catching after the Tortoise. In this mean time, the Tortoise was
finally reaching the finish line.
“Tortoise the runner! Tortoise the
runner.” Yelled all of the animals. The Hare felt ashamed because finally the
Tortoise could beat him. Since that day, the Hare didn’t dare to show up and
brag about his speed anymore.
Alright, Guys! Can you get the point of
the story I told? Yes, don’t be arrogant because it can just let you down.
That’s it from me. Have a great day ...
Ladies and gentlemen, see, arrogance can
be a magnificent weapon of your greatness. So, stay humble, okay? This is it!
See ya ...
